Color-Blind and otherwise "special" Seabees
An interesting trivia for further statistical analysis:
Men sent to the Seabees, usually from the “Regular” Navy, due to color-blindness.
A quick and incomplete count from this website includes Ernest Wingen and Richard Thomas. Bill Ragsdale was ”cured, ” but threw in his lot with the Bees anyway.
Don Brown was sent to the Bees from the Air Corp, ending up in the 33rd Battalion, and Hugh Aarons Wiliam Joynes
Bobs Conner had glasses, but it was his flat feet that turned the Army off. Bob was already enlisted in the Seabees and only out of perversity was submitting to the Army’s indignities
